Early NY Resolution.
My early NY resolution is to start posting more on Xanga after the ball drops in Times Square. But I have some upcoming trips:
- Me and Mrs. Franksabunchâ„¢ will be ringing in the new year in......VEGAS BABY!
- Mid-January...CANCUN BABY! Well, this one won't be as fun since I'm going there for a research conference (on someone else's credit card...hehe) and I'll be going by myself.
Anyone have any tips on restaurants (that won't give me diarrhea) or things to see (that won't get me arrested)?
To tide you over (unless I get the sudden urge to release my mental diarrhea in a post) here are some pics from my NY trip a looong time ago I never got around to posting...
Got to watch the legendary Conga Kings play! Here is a vid I took of Carlos Patato Valdes shaking his tailfeather. Unfortunately, he passed away earlier this month.
I found a cure for iron-deficiency anemia...the Brooklyn Bridge
Pizza at Lombardi's.
NY is the only place where trash is charming.
What the pho was I eating? Late night eats in K-Town.
Read the sign closely. This place was closed by the commissioner of health and MENTAL hygiene. Mental hygiene? I guess bad kim chi drives you insane.
The only thing in NYC I wanted to buy but didn't. Why? Because he probably makes more money than me!
Mmmmmm.....too bad this set me back $100! Chikalicious near the Village.
What I saw my first day of the subway, compliments of someone who probably just watched 2girls1cup (do NOT watch that video...I didn't.)
Everytime I'm in NYC I eat one of these or else I get moody like a wahine with what's at the end of this sentence. (I kid! I kid!)
With my bootiful niece!
Korean food with the fam. This is the place right on the corner at the beginning of that one street with Baden Baden NY (B.B.N.Y. has some killer Korean fried chicken), a little overpriced but good taste. (We went to K-Town--more like K-Block--to eat a lot because my wife in her KP glory wanted to "support her people.")

Outside the MET with my younger sis, my other bootiful niece, and twin sis. Inside we saw...
The one knight in Europe who couldn't catch a cab.
The one knight in Europe who was born in San Francisco.

This is the actual armor of one of the princes, the little gremlin. If I lived back then I would've been their version of Andre The Giant (minus the pituitary problem...anybody want a peanut?).
Pastrami at Katz Deli. Hands down the best in the world. That's my wife's hand (pre-wedding), for those of you who are screaming to see a pic of her.
The Tasty Dumpling on Mulberry Street south of Canal. 5 potstickers for $1!!!!!!! You can buy a bag of 50 frozen for $8 (but the frozen ones are smaller).
I couldn't stop laughing when I saw this...it looks like the guy is breakdancing.
Bathroom at the McD in Times Square. I waited 20 minutes for this homeless guy to come out and this is what I saw when I walked in. Lucky for me I'm a man so I just aimed and did #1. Bwahahaha! I told the guy behind me afterwards, "sorry, there's no way I was touching that."
Dessert in Little Italy. In my opinion Little Italy lacks good service and the food isn't that great.
Went club/bar hopping with the most dangerous Asian on earth...Weezguy! (Sorry, like his recipe for making all the wahines fall for him, his identity must remain secret.)
39th and Prince in Flushing with the man who put the Fat in Fat Nation (jus' kiddin' mang)...Azriha. He with the NYC salute and me with the Hawaiian one.

Switching roles, after we ate....
Xiao Long Bao, BABY! More juice inside than Barry Bond's locker!
My attempt of being a photog like po0piE.
The truth hurts. (Tapioca place near the Village.)
Bomb diggity sweatshirt I bought in Chinatown that still hasn't lost it's red yet. (Amazingly.)
Only in Manhattan.
Have a blessed Christmas! Stay safe and remember the Reason for the Season!
Update: Conversation of the week happened this AM...
- F.Bunch: Why didn't you accompany the patient down to his test?
- Nurse: Well, if he didn't want to go he'd just run away from me.
- F.Bunch: But he only has one leg.
I don't know how I still get paid less than some of the people I work with. Bwahahaha!

YEAH!! I'M THE FIRST FRANKSABUNCH COMMENTER!!!!
Now that I secured a spot I can actually read the rest of your post.
great pictures! except for the gross ones. ew.
that sign made me laugh, "eat all you want, you're already fat." thanks.
so what's all the secrecy with showing the face of your wife? are u afraid we're going to judge? hehehe rest assured, we probably will, but so what?
also, i love all the pics of food u put up. man, makes me wanna go back to nyc!!! mmmmm mmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Looks like a fun trip to NY!
hey hey i interviewed at the dept of health & mental hygiene. LOL.
i miss nyc...happy holidays!!
No, LACK of kimchi drives me insane. GIVE ME KIMCHI!!!
Hahaha! Skunky!
Anyhow, great pics. Makes me hungry and actually want to go to NYC, instead of just driving past through it on the 95 while glaring derisively at all the bad drivers.
Lol, looking at your pictures makes me miss new york. You're such a funny guy.
I'm not surprised that restaurants close for poor hygiene. Have you seen "Kitchen Nightmares"??? Some of the restaurants are gross! For the record, I like the UK version better than the Fox version of the show.
Yeah, the Little Italy here (aka North End) is becoming overrated and overpriced now.
Dumplings! Joe's Shanghai is good, though there are other good places as well.
That hat is DISGUSTING! I'm disappointed.
Speaking of disgusting, that toilet is nasty. It looked as if the guy took a bath and then a dump in it. So you aimed, eh? I guess that's what all the practice at the porcelain firing range is for... (okay, okay, that was gross...sorry, ladies)
oh and Merry Christmas to you too! (nice pictures)
HAHAHAHA nice, censor of me. Thx. It was fun hanging out w/ you, and yes, that place was closed down, but is OPEN again. I want to do a new year's resolution too.
great pictures!!!

i love nyc! i still have to call you, blah.
i'll be in sac from sun to wed (dec23-26). wanna meet up for dessert or something? or maybe you can just come over.
is what happens in Vegas going to stay in Vegas?? =D
kidding, I've never been there so maybe you can recommend some must-check-out places for whenever I go!
(I want to go see a UFC match in person, other than that I don't know WHAT I would do since I'm not much of a gambler)
I like the new year's resloution. But great picture post!
just to make you jealous i am eating korean food just about every day in seoul. i'm sure the board of health in any u.s. city would shut half the restraunts here down, but man- kim bap, kimchi- WHO can resist?
My NY resolution has always been "be a better, smarter and wiser person this year". I don't know, does that sound too unrealistic? hehe...oh wells, I don't have any resolution this year. But does it make me a horrible person?
Ha! I posted a pic of that same parking garage I believe!
And I agree, Little Italy had terrible service....the person didn't even look at me.
Hooray for Pictures! Looks like you had a great time on your trip.
Dude.. Lombardi's.. so good. I've got the damn munchies now.
WHY WAS I NOT INFORMED OF THIS DEBAUCHERY?
sorry you earn less than i do. lol. but at least you can prescribe goodies. that pizza looked sick (in a good way).
eat what you want. you are already fat. LOL. all those pictures of the food made me hungry! where is the picture of the wifey?
Katz's pastrami sandwich!!! dude.
Your twin sister does not look like your twin. Wassupwidat?
food looks so yummy!
great pics! i want to go to ny.. =/ have a blessed Christmas.
ryc: merry xmas to you too. =]
looks like you had a swell time in NY!
my resolution is to go on more trips so i'm going on a cruise in feb. and NY in march. wu hu!
hi, i was told to consult with you by Cakalusa and i'm not sure why. its regarding my most recent entry... do you think you could take a look for me?
"Christianity does not enlarge its kingdom by violence and intimidation,"
You are wrong.
thanks dr. franksabunch. my brother ended up in the emergency room with a severe case of the stomach flu. he's feeling much better now though. thanks again.
oh and if you have the time i'd take a day trip to Playa Del Carmen (not too far away), there's a marina there with a beach that blows cancun's beaches outta the water (there beaches have been kinda destroyed since a hurricane a lil while back. they're kinda mediocre now) and rent a jetski. jetskiing on the carribean sea was probably one of the most freeing and amazing experiences i've ever had. also check out Chichen Itza for the mayan ruins or Tullum if you don't want to travel as far.
Perico's in downtown Cancun is a good place to eat. its a bit of a tourist trap but the food is good and their butter is to die for.
have fun!
yo!..congrats???...fo real?..hahaha...i saw s1LLyAngeL4 yesterday at church...didnt realize you were in cali still...but many congrats to you/yours...cant wait to see WADT from you..or WADFT (WHAT A DAD FRANKS THNKS>>>HAR>>>MERRY CHRISTMAS
Hey man, I just read a comment you left about the boycotting of the Golden Compass, and I wanted to stop by and give you props. I completely agree with what you said and it's good to know there are others out there with a down to earth world view.
Merry CHRISTmas!!
Hey I'm going to Vegas for new years too! Maybe we'll run into each other =P
Happy Holidays Frank! Hope you're having a good one!
For real, I think I need to cut down on the kimchi...
Nice...I was in NYC two weeks ago for the first time! I love big cities. That picture of the toilet was hilarious!
While I was there, they had this 25-day promotion thing for Charmin. You went up an elevator and got in line to wait to go to the BATHROOM. And they had this dude cheering you on saying "drop it like it's hot" with a speakerphone, hahaha. Lots of employees were cheering and clapping as you would try soft/tough Charmin toilet paper and get a survey of which one the customers liked best, hahaha.
BTW, I was unable to attend the service for the eHarmony week, but I told my friend to take notes for me. Unfortunately, his hand writing is so bad, I can't read it. All I got out of the few words I could read was that eHarmony is something Christians shouldn't use as it goes against His will.
Happy New Years Frank! May your 2008 be full of joy, happiness and delicious food.
PS U DID NOT JUST MENTION TWO GIRLS 1 CUP!
RYC: Hope you didn't mind my publicizing your post.
that male nurse action figure is actually hanging on our wall at children's here. i think that xray paraphernalia thingy is a tiny pic of that same classic guy u learn about it neuro who survived the rod spiked thru his skull and frontal lobe but with personality changes.
one dumb nurse doesn't represent the whole! >:O
i LOVE chickalicious!
why don't you have any wife pictures?
Happy New Year, Doc!
thanks for sharing your awesome pictures!
RYC: Dood, we already called you guys for the CVVH. Man, that stuff is such bad news...
Great pictures!
haha...i didnt know mental hygiene exists. and congratulations for ur wedding. =) even its a lil ( or alot) tad belated.
I have a thundercats t-shirt just like that...but I want that hoodie!! ^_^
btw..what is the screenname of the other site you post on? I think I forgot to sub to it
you don't live in NY? next time you visit NY, you should check out Beer Garden- but they're awesome just during the summer time. hah..
