  • Oops, I'm in trouble!

    Oh SNAP (in a Z formation)!!!!

    So I was deleting some applications from my computer (quicktime was one of them) to clear some space and now my iTunes won't load.  It says I have to download it again.

    DOES THIS MEAN THAT ALL 900 SONGS I UPLOADED ARE GONE?!?!??!?!?!??!  AIYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

    Or should I simply just download iTunes again?  (Does it have anything to do with giving quicktime the 86?)

    Sorry, I'm clueless about anything that I can't prescribe something to fix!

    Edit:  Muchos Mahalos for all the advice!  I downloaded quicktime again and now my iTunes is working again!!!!!!!  So what did we learn children?  Besides the fact that gerbils lack a Circle of Willis, don't delete quicktime if you have iTunes!

    jk on not caring. your music should still be there. i think the application is just gone. just redownload iTunes or whatever. it doesn't take that long.

  • The directory and everything should still be there... though I'm not too sure on iTunes (or Apple stuff in general). Either way, you should re-download it. Hope things'll be fine.

  • i say just download and reinstall. all your music files are still stored in your computer.

  • ditto to what jonas said. unless you uninstalled itunes instead of simply deleting it, and while uninstalling, specifically made the selection for the library to be uninstalled as well. in which case... i have a lot of music i could share with you. hahah

    (dear RIAA, I'm kidding about that last part. Please go away and get a life.)

  • i don't really know, but you only have 900 songs?!?! for some reason that doens't sound like a lot. but it might be. who knows.

  • the library should still be there. download it again, it should do a search on your drive for mp3 files or the directory file.

  • ur music is in a different folder... like some of the folk above stated... the apps are in a sep directory so u should be safe...

  • you will know if you have the songs if you can search for it.  if they don't come up, then it's all gone.

  • Frankie, Quicktime is iTune's evil sidekick, or vice versa, depending on which you use most. Quicktime lets you see the videos in iTunes. Just reinstall and don't try to get rid of it next time. You will see when you install that they come like conjoined twins that share major vessels and stay that way.

  • i would first try to reinstall Quicktime, i believe iTunes needs it.  if iTunes still won't load, then reinstall iTunes next. i believe your music is stored elsewhere and should be safe since you didn't do anything to iTunes itself.

  • you only deleted the programs and not the physcial files of the songs..so i think it's still there, u just need to download a player to play those files. (like itunes, which you can get on apple.com, or quicktime)

    Every time I try to visit his site, I can't... Looks like he pulled his subscription to me even tho I deleted the post. I admit I was angry and hurt and insulted!

    I feel badly that I lashed out at him because he said rudely in that IM that he was a white guy named "Jessie" and sent me to this weird ugly, toothless, meth-tweaker, balding skinny white guy with scars on his face & missing some teeth, like he'd been in barfights and had a rough life. If I IM'd the wrong person, he sure was not a Pacific Islander or even close to Chinese! Looked like an inbred Okie hillbilly junkie in the photo he sent with the IM message where he told me to go and do something "biologically impossible to myself."

    What's up with Fatitude? I sure am sorry. See my site. Beware of IMs! I'm pretty naive to this online thing, online etiquette, etc. I hope he reads my post and sees my apology!!

  • The music is still there, you can perform a search on your computer to find them.  I found this once by accident so I can't tell you how to get there... but I've been there and done that.  Don't worry =D

  • awwww! I was thinking of starting to post again. Those days of my whimsical, crass, and often grammtically incorrect posts are gone. I've gone through a lot this year. Thanks for the comment. Maybe I'll start posting again. Gotta change the name though. You'll see me again! *wink*

  • Oh, Quicktime always causes one trouble or another.  Takes decades to load up too.

    Still beats Real Player...that one's just useless.
